HHYF HAS MAJOR PRESENCE AT OPEN SPACE PACE
HHYF Has Major Presence at Open Space Pace
The inaugural Open Space Pace was a big success and the Harness Horse Youth Foundation was a major participant in the day’s events in Freehold. The day started with HHYF alums and trustees marching in the Open Space Pace parade.
As events moved to Freehold Raceway, the Foundation had two information tables set up. One was adjacent to the HHYF Stable’s Trottingbred Ima’s Hit, aka Homer, who was available for a meet and greet with all those in attendance. Later that day, Homer, driven by former camp participant Gina Fagliarone and accompanied by Josh Todd (who won the opportunity, along with a plethora of HHYF gear in a drawing) led the post parade for the Open Space Pace, the eighth race on Freehold’s card.
Meanwhile, HHYF Project Manager Keith Gisser was dispensing HHYF information at a table along the apron. Other trustees assisting with the day’s festivities included Nicola Abrams, Ryan Avenatti, and Callie Davies-Gooch. “We were very impressed with the event,” said Gisser. “For a first year program, the attendance was great and we met a lot of folks, some familiar with HHYF and a lot who were not. We look forward to participating next year in an even bigger way.”
