CRAFT
NAMED HARNESS HORSE YOUTH FOUNDATION TRUSTEE
Karen Craft, director
of facilities for Harrington Raceway, Inc., has been named a trustee
for the Harness Horse Youth Foundation. She replaces Pompano Park's
Steven Wolf, who served the HHYF for 25 years. Craft has coordinated
HHYF-run Harness Racing Youth League camps at Harrington in previous
years.
"The world of harness
racing needs to educate the younger generation. We need the youth
of today to become involved in our sport," Craft said of her appointment.
"The Harness Horse Youth Foundation, under the direction of Ellen
Taylor, does a wonderful job reaching out to the youth of today.
Harrington Raceway has hosted several camps and at the end of the
week there isn't one participant that wants the week to end."
Craft joins a group of
14 other HHYF trustees that help oversee the organization.
Later this month the
HHYF will kick off the 2006 schedule of Harness Racing Youth League
camps. Now in their eighth year, HRYL camps will take place in New
Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Ontario.
Established in 1976,
the Harness Horse Youth Foundation addresses youth education throughout
the United States and Canada. A charitable organization, the HHYF
continues to enlarge and improve its programs. For more information
about the HHYF, please call the HHYF office at 317-867-5877 or visit
