THIRD
HHYF LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE SCHEDULED
The Harness Horse Youth
Foundation has scheduled its third Leadership Conference for April
28 and 29, 2006 at Indiana Downs in Shelbyville, IN.
The event's purpose is
to bring together individuals and their ideas to improve the efforts
of promoting harness racing to young people. "The collective sharing
that takes place at these conferences is what makes them productive"
said Executive Director Ellen Taylor. "When we all work together
for a larger purpose, inspiration develops and makes the individual
projects stronger."
The conference will begin
with an informal dessert reception on Friday evening at the track
from 7:30PM to 8:30PM. The structured part of the conference will
begin on Saturday morning at 9AM. While the exact format is nearing
completion, plans are to include a "straight from the horses' mouth"
session with young people sharing their experiences and insight.
Also planned is a teacher's panel which will allow for the exploration
of new concepts as well as announcements of some new, exciting resources.
While Indiana Downs is
host for the Leadership Conference, the event will conclude midafternoon
so that participants may attend the Dan Patch Invitational Pace
later that evening at Hoosier Park.
Those wishing to attend
the leadership conference are asked to complete a registration
form to HHYF prior to April 12. A registration fee of $20 will
cover Friday's dessert, Saturday's lunch and all handouts.
