Harness Horse Youth Foundation Announces Sweet Karen Alumni Scholarship
 The Harness Horse Youth Foundation is pleased to announce a new scholarship for students who have previously attended HHYF summer, leadership or HRYL camps, or family weekends since 1999. The new scholarship honors the HHYF’s 16-year-old trottingbred media sensation Sweet Karen, who posts to her own Facebook page and has become the equine face of the organization’s stable.
Hanover Shoe Farm Foundation Named HHYF Service To Youth Recipient
HHYF has named the Hanover Shoe Farm Foundation as the recipient of the 2011 Service to Youth Award. The Hanover Shoe Farm Foundation is an offshoot of the L.B. Sheppard Foundation and is now in its seventh decade of supporting deserving organizations in Hanover, PA as well as in the sport of harness racing according to its President Russell Williams. HHYF Offers Jenna's Beach Boy Breeding
The Harness Horse Youth Foundation is pleased to offer a breeding to World Champion Jenna’s Beach Boy, thanks to the generosity of Bill and Moira Fahy. Jenna’s Beach Boy stands for a fee of $2,500 at Ivy Lane Farm in Goshen, Indiana. For details on the bidding process, contact the HHYF office at (317) 867-5877.
Clypso Dust- Our newest stable member
Caly is a 12-year-old mare from New York and was donated to HHYF by Bob and Carol Fleming. She is currently fat and sassy at HHYF World Headquarters in Indiana and will soon join the rest of the herd at Brittany Farms in Versailles, Kentucky.

HHYF ANNOUNCES NATIONWIDE SCHOLARSHIP INITIATIVE
In an attempt to increase awareness of available scholarships, the Harness Horse Youth Foundation is launching an initiative to serve as a clearing house for harness racing-related grants. Sweet Karen prepares to jog at Vernon Downs

Fifteen-year-old trotter Sweet Karen has created her own Facebook page and will be commenting on her travels as part of the Harness Horse Youth Foundation Stable this summer and beyond. Facebook members can "like" the athlete by logging on to http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sweet-Karen/221223011248815. Karen, whose nicknames include Chubby and Butter Tub, is one of seven Trottingbreds who travel with HHYF Executive Director Ellen Taylor and her staff, teaching youngsters about harness racing. Dyberry Twp, Pa. — Molly Fenwick and Ben Hollingsworth come from two very different worlds...but, their love of horses and harness racing bridges a geographical gap that stretches nearly 700 miles.
Molly, who hails from Tunkhannock, and Ben, who lives in Nova Scotia, are this year’s summer interns for the Harness Horse Youth Foundation.

Ellen Taylor, Executive Director of the Harness Horse Youth Foundation has announced the winners of the organization's annual scholarships. The $15,000 Gallo Blue Chip scholarship, sponsored by Martin Scharf, goes to Michael Fahy, the son of William and Moira Fahy, of Washington, Pennsylvania, while Lambertville, New Jersey's Emily Grace Murphy, the daughter of Patti and Joseph Murphy, has been named winner of the $2,500 Curt Greene Memorial Scholarship. Lindy Farms, in conjunction with the Harness Horse Youth Foundation, sponsored a Family Day for members of the Bourbon Slush Stable Sunday, June 19. 120 attendees, ranging from a few weeks old to 91-years-old met stable member Lil Miss Bourbon, a two-year-old American Ideal filly owned by the group, who jogged for the group. They also had a chance to experience a jog cart ride with the seven Trottingbred members of the HHYF stable. Over eighty participants took advantage of that opportunity.
The Lindy Farms staff and management, including Frank Antonacci and farm manager John Belskie were in attendance, with Frank hosting a question and answer session and Belskie providing a tour of the breeding farm. Lunch was served under a tent at nearby Somers Golf Center, as attendees took advantage of the mini-golf, batting cages, driving range, rock wall and monkey motion attraction. Read more

The Harness Horse Youth Foundation, a charitable 501(c)3 organization , has been changing young people’s lives since 1976, offering hands-on learning with Standardbreds. Additional programs include scholarship administration and the creation and distribution of educational materials.
